This certificate validates that the learner understands and can describe the purpose of major mainframe hardware and software components. They can identify how a z/OS system processes information, and the role that JES2 plays in managing devices and batch jobs. This individual can start and stop various subsystems such as JES2 and can access and define TSO/ISPF, and SDSF defaults. This person can also use these products to run basic batch jobs using JCL.
Be aware that if you have previously earned the IBM Mainframe Systems Operator Level I Certificate 2.4 or 2.5 you can earn the RPL (Recognized Prior Learning) version of this certificate.
