This suite of courses is designed to meet the needs of both entry-level and more experienced COBOL programmers. At the introductory level it introduces the learner to the COBOL language and its basic structure, describing the syntax and use of basic program logic statements. Intermediate users will examine commonly used COBOL code used to access and manipulate data, while more advanced topics relating to arrays, indexing and sorting are presented for more experienced users. Programmers with more specific needs, such as working in a z/OS environment, or with IMS databases will find relevant content in optional courses.
