Overview

At Interskill, we understand that organizations often already have an established Learning Management System (LMS) or LXP. To support seamless adoption of our courseware, we offer several integration options so your learners and administrators can access and report on Interskill content via your existing platform. Our approach is broadly compatible with major LMS vendors (e.g. Workday, Skillsoft / Percipio, Adobe Learning Manager, Cornerstone, and many others) so long as they support standard e-learning interoperability protocols (especially AICC, SCORM, etc.).

This page describes how Interskill integrates with partner LMSs, what LMS requirements we assume, and a primer on AICC (especially since our hosted AICC model is a common route for integration).

Integration Models: How Interskill Works with an LMS

We offer two primary delivery models for integrating with your LMS:

Integration ModeWhat You Upload / Configure in Your LMSWhere Content LivesHow Tracking OccursPros / Considerations
Hosted AICCYou upload AICC descriptor files (e.g. .au, .crs, .cst, .au.xml) / “shells” into your LMSOn Interskill’s content serverLMS launches our server with parameters; exchanges Get / Put / Exit AU callsMinimal content hosting burden on client LMS; updates to content on Interskill side propagate instantly
SCORM (1.2 / 2004)You upload full SCORM package (zip) into your LMSOn your LMS or content repositoryStandard SCORM API (Initialize, GetValue, SetValue, Finish)Common in many LMSs; requires you to host and maintain the packages; Extra costs maybe incurred

In either case, the important part is ensuring your LMS can recognize the AICC or SCORM descriptor and can launch external content via URL (for AICC) or internal package (for SCORM).

Because Interskill’s content is standards-compliant, we can integrate with virtually any LMS that supports AICC, SCORM, or equivalent import/launch mechanisms.

Integration with Popular LMSs / Platforms

Below are examples of how Interskill can integrate with particular LMS vendors:

Skillsoft / Percipio – Instant Integration

Interskill Learning Partners with Skillsoft and our content is already present on their systems. A simple access request is needed from your Skillsoft or Interskill representative.

Workday Learning

Workday’s Learning module supports launching external content, and can ingest AICC packages (or SCORM). To integrate Interskill:

  1. Upload Interskill’s AICC descriptor files to Workday as “externally hosted content.”
  2. Configure a launch URL field (mapping to aicc_url) and pass necessary parameters (aicc_sid).
  3. Workday will launch into Interskill’s server, and exchanges tracking via standard AICC.
  4. Completion, scores, bookmarking, etc., flow back to Workday’s reporting.

If you prefer SCORM instead, you may import Interskill’s SCORM packages into Workday, though you then host the package locally in Workday’s environment.

Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Captivate Prime)

Adobe Learning Manager can host external SCORM or AICC content. For Interskill:

  • Use the “External Learning” feature (or equivalent) to create a module that launches from an external URL (the AICC shell).
  • Upload or register the descriptor files (from Interskill).
  • Ensure the module definition passes aicc_url and aicc_sid parameters to our system.
  • Tracking (completion, score, bookmark) is exchanged via AICC HACP.

Optionally, if you want to internalize content, we can package into SCORM packages and you host them inside Adobe Learning Manager.

Cornerstone OnDemand

Cornerstone supports both SCORM and externally hosted (AICC-like) content. Integration steps:

  • Create an “External Content” item in Cornerstone, and supply the URL to Interskill’s AICC launch.
  • Import the AICC descriptor files as necessary.
  • Ensure the LMS-to-content handshake includes the proper parameters and exchange protocol.
  • Cornerstone will receive back status, scores, and bookmark progress.

Other LMSs (Generic AICC / SCORM-compatible systems)

Because AICC is a broadly implemented standard, Interskill’s hosted AICC solution can work with any LMS that supports:

  • Uploading AICC descriptor files (or “shell” wrappers)
  • Launching content via an external URL (passing aicc parameters)
  • Exchanging GetParam / PutParam / ExitAU commands

In short, if your LMS claims “AICC support” (or “externally hosted content via AICC”) or SCORM import, we are confident we can connect.

Technical Details & Requirements

Here are some technical/hygiene requirements that your LMS and IT team should verify to ensure smooth integration:

  • HTTPS / SSL: All content launches and data exchanges must occur over HTTPS to ensure security.
  • Parameter passing: The LMS launch must pass aicc_sid and aicc_url (or equivalent) to Interskill’s hosted content server.
  • Browser compatibility: We support modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge).
  • Pop-up blockers: If the LMS opens the content in a new window or frame, ensure pop-up blockers are disabled.
  • Relay/Logging: We maintain AICC relay-logs for debugging and diagnostics; clients can opt to include or exclude certain fields.
  • Firewalls / Network Access: Your LMS must be able to reach Interskill’s content servers (no blocking of the domain/IP).
  • Course updates: With hosted AICC, content updates on Interskill’s side automatically flow to all clients without requiring re-import.
  • Fallback / SCORM option: If desired, we can supply SCORM packages so that you can host the content entirely inside your LMS instead of launching it externally.

Why Clients Choose Interskill’s Integration Approach

  • Lower LMS burden — clients avoid hosting bulky course files, especially multimedia content — we manage the hosting side.
  • Faster updates & maintenance — you don’t have to re-upload new versions each time; Interskill does version control centrally.
  • Data Privacy — organizations with varied LMS environments (Workday, Cornerstone, custom platforms) can all connect to a dedicated content repository and user personal data is not required.
  • Consistent tracking — because the AICC or SCORM protocols are standard, reporting and compliance across systems remains consistent.
  • Support & diagnostics — built-in relay logs and protocol-level transparency help when resolving tracking or launch issues.

Next Steps & Implementation Support

If you’d like to integrate Interskill with your LMS, here’s how we typically proceed:

  1. LMS Assessment
We (or your technical team) confirm whether your current LMS supports AICC, SCORM, or external content launch.
  2. Sample Package Delivery
We provide the AICC descriptor files (shell files) and sample launch configurations for your testing environment.
  3. Test Setup
You upload into a sandbox LMS, configure launch parameters, and run a pilot to validate data exchanges (e.g. scoring, bookmarking).
  4. Debug & Validate
We help troubleshoot using our AICC relay logs and examine mismatches or parameter issues.
  5. Go Live
After final validation, the integration is enabled in production and we monitor early runs to ensure proper reporting.

We’re happy to provide sample courses or direct support with LMS vendors if needed.
